Storage Space Simplicity

Situation: A client with two workspaces, a complex paper filing system and cluttered storage in the home. The client has several storage containers, drawers under the bed, a cupboard on the main floor and boxes in the basement – all holding household papers, project files and documentation. The client wants to be able to work upstairs or downstairs as desired.

Challenge: To clear out clutter and get rid of unnecessary paperwork; to re-evaluate the current paper filing system and to create a new and functional system that is portable. To reuse existing storage containers as much as possible. To implement solutions that are neat, visually-pleasing and stored out-of-sight.

Results: With help from Simply Organized the contents of the main floor storage cupboard were rationalized and re-organized. As a result, more storage is available for household records and files. Bed linens and seasonal clothes can now be stored under the bed. With a simplified filing system the client finds it easier to store and retrieve paperwork and to complete the "to-do" list. A re-purposed portable container allows the client to process household paperwork anywhere in the house.
