Small Business Success

Situation: A client who is running a small retail business from a home office. All bookshelves, drawers and storage space within the office are filled to capacity. The client wants to get rid of one of the two desks, both of which are cluttered with supplies and paperwork. The client wants space to display merchandise and to welcome clients and business associates.

Challenge: To rationalize and amalgamate office supplies and paperwork from both desks and to organize the remaining materials on one desk. To re-organize office furniture to make better use of the space. To de-clutter and re-organize bookshelves to create display space. To find a creative solution to conceal items stored underneath the desk.

Results: With the help of Simply Organized, a rearrangement of the office furniture and create a better overall use of the space. De-cluttering and reorganizing bookshelf contents opened up a large area of display space for merchandise. By organizing office paperwork and supplies onto one desk and removing the second desk, there is now space for a seating area and a mirror to accommodate clients. The desk was fitted with a skirt to hide the recycling bin and computer cords located underneath. The client planned to purchase a flat-screen computer monitor to free up more desk space.
